As the AI Program Manager for OASIS Open, you will lead members from around the world–multinational organizations, government agencies, research institutes, and companies of all sizes–as they work in a wide array of projects to produce their deliverables and achieve broader goals of wide uptake. You will continually lead and bring disruption in areas as varied as data formats and exchange, model interoperability, ethics and fairness, security, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, hardware acceleration, ontologies and semantics, and more.
You have a solid track record in managing and leading diverse project teams, along with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a self-directed attitude. Prior experience supporting members for technical consortia, standards bodies, and/or open-source communities is preferred.
This position reports to the Chief Technical Community Steward.
With your industry expertise, you will be responsive and lead open projects for the organization.
Your duties will include:
Project management
- Lead project teams and member relationships to meet milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
- Be OASIS’ representative for the project community to ensure all open rules and policies are adhered to and be ready to step in to preempt mistakes and help projects follow them successfully.
- Lead the members in defining project objectives, scope of work, and attracting new collaborators.
Community management
- Help project proposers organize and launch compelling new technical projects, whether OPs or TCs
Master all the nuances of the OASIS rules and policies and the operational procedures that put them into use.
- Be part of OASIS’s continuous growth and increase our customer-centricity
- Deal with conflict effectively
- Take responsibility for making judgments and decisions as needed.
Project support
- Set up and configure project assets like GitHub repos, websites, or email lists Work with IT support to help keep our systems running and improve the platform Mentor and on-board new projects and participants.
Improving the organization
- Design and draft material (documentation, presentations, videos, etc.) to attract new and existing community members and help them understand and work within OASIS procedures and protocols.
- Assist the development of marketing communications and the business development staff to grow OASIS’s brand in the open standards and open-source communities.
- Design and draft operational documentation to help OASIS staff operate more efficiently and ramp up new staff expeditiously.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve OASIS operations.
Business development
- Partner with the Business Development team to identify new areas of technical work.
- Partner Business Development with marketing calls, helping improve charters, providing technical backup for pitches, etc.

General Contracting Opportunities
From time to time, in connection with its activities in support of standardization-related projects, OASIS enters into independent contractor arrangements with appropriate professionals, usually on a limited, part-time basis, with a defined scope for the completion of specific projects. Typical engagements include specification or schema editing work, the analysis and preparation of reports on particular standards artifacts, and similar projects. Some level of domain expertise or experience is usually required.
