The purpose of this subcommittee is to rapidly develop standard XML business library content by taking an existing library as a starting point and modifying it to incorporate the best features of other existing business and core component libraries.

Set of deliverables:

* Create a Library of Basic Information Entities.
* XML (XSD) Schemas for business document types based on these BIEs.
* Example instance for each schema.
* Customization methodology.
* Documentation for business documents.
* Publication into Public Registries.

The Subcommittee was closed by OASIS TC Administration on 21 February 2020 and is no longer active.

This web page describes the Library Content Subcommittee that functioned from November 2001 through May 2004 to provide the data models and business input to UBL 1.0. The description above and the document and mail archives associated with the work of the LCSC have been maintained as historical artifacts relating to UBL 1.0 development, but the subcommittee is no longer active as a separate entity. Effective 1 June 2004, the UBL Library Content work continues within the UBL TC itself.
