While DataPower is voting Yes, we want to take this opportunity to highlight the need for further convergence between ebXML and Web services messaging & transport standards. Our concern in various standards organizations has been to try to drive towards convergence on the lower tiers -- SOAP, WS-Security, XML Schema and the like. I have been told that Hitachi has already demonstrated UBL in WS-* environment, hopefully these efforts will continue and be publicized. It would be wonderful to have OASIS take steps to advance this further. Embracing the basic infrastructure tiers of WS-*, especially WS-Security, will make UBL much more accessible to every organization in the world, large and small, and accelerate the adoption of open standards in general.
